Death Road to Canada is an indie action-adventure roguelike developed by Rocketcat Games and Madgarden. The game is described as a “randomly-generated road trip” inspired by Oregon Trail, and has one to four players travel across a zombie-infested East Coast exploring cities, recruiting survivors, and making tough choices.

As the game is already published on all major platforms, this article is concerned specifically with the upcoming physical release for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 handled by eastasiasoft. Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a tactical RPG developed by Intelligent Systems and Koei Tecmo for Nintendo Switch consoles. Much like in the previous Fire Emblem installments, the player commands a party of warriors on a grid-based battlefield. A new feature is the assigning battalions of troops to support individual units in battle.

The setting of Fire Emblem: Three Houses is the continent of Fódlan, which is divided into three nations: the Adrestian Empire, the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, and the Leicester Alliance. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is an action RPG developed by Koei Tecmo’s Team Ninja and published by Nintendo. It features a large cast of characters from the Marvel Universe including the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Defenders, and the X-Men, all of whom unite in a quest to stop Thanos and his Black Order warmasters from acquiring the Infinity Stones.

The game supports online and local multiplayer with up to four players. Unlike its predecessors from the Marvel Ultimate Alliance series, it is exclusive to Nintendo Switch. Only a standard edition will be released, priced at $59.99.

God Eater 3 is an action RPG developed by Marvelous and published by Bandai Namco. It centers around the titular God Eaters, a group of super-soldiers wielding biological weapons, who are humanity’s last line of defense against powerful monsters known as Aragami that have devastated the world.

God Eater 3 was released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC to generally positive reviews back in February 2019. Dragon Quest Builders 2 is a block-building RPG from Square Enix that is set in the same universe as the main Dragon Quest JRPG series. It combines the gameplay elements of building, exploration, battling, and completing quests. Story-wise, the game begins with the player washing up on the shores of the deserted Isle of Awakening, befriending a mysterious youth with no memory of his past, and embarking on a journey to defeat the Children of Hargon who worship destruction.

Compared to its 2016 predecessor Dragon Quest Builders, multiplayer is a major addition to the game. Up to four players can play cooperatively via internet or Switch local wireless. It is possible to change the characters’ gender and customize their appearance, visit the other players’ Vacant Islands and invite them to your own, and ride vehicles together.

Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night is a gothic side-scrolling action RPG produced and written by former Castlevania series producer Koji Igarashi. It is co-developed by ArtPlay, DICO and WayForward Technologies, and published by 505 Games. The game was successfully crowded on Kickstarter back in 2015, but had to be delayed until this year to raise the quality level.

The protagonist of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist’s curse which causes her body to slowly crystallize. To save humanity and end her curse, she has to battle her way through a demon-infested castle and defeat their summoner.

Warhammer: Chaosbane is a hack-and-slash action RPG developed by Eko Software and published by Bigben Interactive in association with Games Workshop. Like the name suggests, it is set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe. As the Empire of Man recovers from the Great War Against Chaos, a new threat to the fragile peace emerges; it falls to the player to gather allies and battle the hordes of Chaos across the Old World.

While the game can be tackled solo, it is designed from the ground up for cooperative play with up to four players, corresponding to the four available character classes. Both online and local multiplayer are supported.

Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth is a dungeon crawler game developed and published by Atlus. It is a spin-off from the main Persona series, and features characters from Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5.

After the Phantom Thieves (P5) find themselves trapped in a locked cinema, they have to explore a labyrinth of movies of various genres, encountering SEES from P3, the Investigation Team from P4, and the female protagonist of Persona 3 Portable who will aid them on their journey.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission is a strategic card battle game featuring over 350 characters from the entire Dragon Ball franchise. It is developed by Japanese studio DIMPS and published by Bandai Namco, and is the first title in the series to see a Western release.

Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World is the latest installment in the Atelier franchise developed by Gust and published in the West by Koei Tecmo. In a departure from the past titles, it focused on town building rather than alchemy, although it still retains the familiar elements of resource gathering, battles, and synthesis.

Outward is an open-world action RPG developed by Nine Dots Studio and published by Maximum Games. The game aims to simulate the life of an adventurer in a grim and gritty fantasy world: the player character has to hunt, eat, sleep, and heal, their weapons and armor break, and magic spells, while powerful, require consumable components and extensive preparation. Furthermore, the game world is constantly saving, so the player has to live with bad decisions rather than reload.

The Division 2 is an open-world, online-only shooter with RPG elements developed by Massive Entertainment and published by their parent company, Ubisoft. Compared to its predecessor, it is larger in scope and scale, and provides more end-game content and character customization. Anthem is a sci-fi themed cooperative action RPG developed by BioWare and published by EA. It is set in a world left unfinished by gods, and thus teeming with colossal beasts, otherworldly artifacts, vast ruins, and monsters corrupted by the titular Anthem – the source of all creation.

Mankind’s hopes of survival in this savage place hinge on Freelancers: pilots of powerful and highly-customizable Javelin exosuits, which enable humans to explore the frontier and engage fearsome enemies as equals.

Etrian Odyssey Nexus is described as a love letter to Etrian, bringing more classes, characters, gameplay systems, and dungeons than any other title in the franchise. Fallout 76 is a multiplayer survival game set in West Virginia in year 2102, well before the events in the previous installments. It centers around Vault 76, the inhabitants of which are tasked with rebuilding society a quarter-century after the nuclear apocalypse.

The game is fully online, with a dozen or so players gathering resources and building bases in a shared world that is said to be four times larger than that of Fallout 4. It is possible to work at surviving alone, or in a party with up to four friends. If cooperation ain’t your thing, it is possible to collect launch codes and nuke other players’ bases. Progress isn’t lost upon death, however, and the characters can be freely transferred between servers.
