Killzone 3 is an upcoming first-person shooter game for Playstation 3 platform, developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony. The game will continue right where Killzone 2 left off, with players once again taking control of Thomas Sevchenko. Guerilla promises an improved single-player storyline and more character development in KZ3, and they’ve hired an outside writer to achieve that.
The online multiplayer will offer five distinct classes (Tactician, Engineer, Field Medic, Marksman and Infiltrator), each with six different abilities and weapons to choose from. If you’re interested, you can check out the Killzone 3 Open Beta on PSN from February 3rd to 15th.
The technical aspects of Killzone 3 are impressive. The devs have stated that the game will push the PS3 hardware to its limits, using 100% processing power of the SPUs. KZ3 will also support the Playstation Move controller and offer a stereoscopic 3D mode.

KZ3 comes in three different editions: Standard, Collector’s (Europe only) and Helghast. The Collector’s Edition comes in a SteelBook package and includes a PSN voucher for KZ3 soundtrack download, various multiplayer perks, and Killzone 3 dynamic theme.
The ultimate Helghast Edition contains a Helghast helmet replica, a Cloaking Helghast Marksman action figure by DC Unlimited, a 100-page hardbound art book, and a Super Voucher for multiplayer bonuses (increased XP rate for 24 hours and extra unlock points).

- Amazon: Unlock & Load Pack (3 Unlock Points to use on weapon or ability of your choice in KZ3 multiplayer)
- BestBuy: Fast Starter Pack (double XP rate for the first 24 hours of multiplayer gameplay)
- GAME: limited EU Collector’s Edition allows access to all abilities and weapons for the first 24 hours of multiplayer, doubles XP earning rate temporarily, and gives 3 Unlock Points.
In addition, the Retro Map Pack (two popular maps from Killzone 2) and access to SOCOM 4 Multiplayer Beta seem to be included in all editions, no matter where you preorder KZ3 from.

After the events of Killzone 2 Helghan Empire is in a disarray, with Jorhan Stahl and Admiral Orlock fighting for the throne. This trailer reveals the new characters voiced by Hollywood actors and shows off the capabilities of Killzone 3 graphics engine.
