Life Is Strange: Before the Storm is a graphic adventure game developed by Deck Nine Games and published by Square Enix. As a prequel to Dontnod Entertainment’s award-winning Life is Strange, it takes place three years prior, and follows a sixteen-year-old Chloe Price who is struggling to deal with the loss of her father.

Unlike the original, Before the Storm does not feature rewind mechanics. However, the player’s decisions throughout the story will still be meaningful and consequential. The game will be released in three parts, with an additional chapter available in the Deluxe Edition.

Life Is Strange: Before the Storm - Classic Chloe

Pre-order Life Is Strange: Before the Storm to receive the “Classic Chloe” outfit from the original game, minus the blue hair. The complete season is available for pre-order for $16.99. As an additional bonus, PlayStation Store is offering an exclusive dynamic theme.

Deluxe Edition

Life Is Strange: Before the Storm - Deluxe Edition

The game also has a Deluxe Edition, which costs $24.99 and comes with the following:

  • Main game (all three chapters).
  • Bonus episode, “Farewell”: play one last time as a young Max Caulfield.
  • Mixtape Mode: design your own playlist from the Life is Strange soundtrack and listen to it alongside a cinematic scene from the game.
  • Outfit pack: change up Chloe’s look with Punk Doe, Hawt Dawg Man, and Illuminati outfits.

The first episode of Life Is Strange: Before the Storm is scheduled to be released digitally on August 31, 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
