Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by EA DICE. It is a reboot of the 2008’s title Mirror’s Edge, and features the same protagonist, Faith, who rebels against the totalitarian government in the futuristic City of Glass.
The changes in Catalyst go beyond next-gen graphics. The game is now open-world (and without loading screens to boot), has more freedom of traversal, and offers multiple paths of reaching your destination. The combat system has also been overhauled, focusing on melee attacks and parkour movements, and removing the usage of guns entirely. In addition, Faith actually gets character development, going from a troubled young woman to a fierce heroine.
While the new Mirror’s Edge doesn’t have live multiplayer, it does feature some asynchronous multiplayer elements where your actions can affect the game world of other players. There are also leaderboards for extra game modes such as time trials and races.
Pre-order bonuses
Pre-order Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst to get the Combat Runner Kit, Speed Runner Kit, or both. These include either combat- or speed-themed items which will help you stand out in the aforementioned multiplayer aspects of the game.

- Unique Background: customize your Screen Hacks
At the time of writing, Amazon, GameStop, and Best Buy are all offering both Combat and Speed Kits. EA’s own Origin also has both available with the digital versions of the game. Other retailers haven’t listed the bonuses yet, but you should be getting at least one of the Kits in any case.
Collector’s Edition
The $200 Collector’s Edition of Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst is available for all three platforms the game will be released on, and includes the following extras:

- Adult Faith/Young Faith diorama
- Exclusive lithograph
- Set of 10 concept art pieces
- Temporary logo tattoo
- Temporary Faith arm tattoo
The official website states that there are two retailers carrying this edition in the US: GameStop and Amazon.

After being delayed twice, Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst is now set to launch on June 7th, 2016 in North America, and June 9th in Europe.
