Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a tactical RPG developed by Intelligent Systems and Koei Tecmo for Nintendo Switch consoles. Much like in the previous Fire Emblem installments, the player commands a party of warriors on a grid-based battlefield. A new feature is the assigning battalions of troops to support individual units in battle.

The setting of Fire Emblem: Three Houses is the continent of Fódlan, which is divided into three nations: the Adrestian Empire, the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, and the Leicester Alliance. The player takes on the role of Byleth, a teacher at the famed Officer’s Academy, whose students include the three heirs of their respective countries.

Man of Medan is the first installment in Supermassive Games’ anthology of standalone supernatural horror games The Dark Pictures. The story follows a group of young divers on vacation who are kidnapped and trapped on a ghost ship. The game has a branching storyline with multiple endings, and the choices the player makes decide which characters live and die.

The replayability of The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan is further enhanced by something called the Curator’s Cut, which is unlocked after completing the main story once – more on that after the jump.

Shenmue III is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Ys Net – the company headed by the director, writer, and producer of the previous Shenmue installments Yu Suzuki – and published by Deep Silver. After years of development hell, it will finally see a release thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.

Shenmue III continues the story of teenage martial artist Ryo Hazuki, whose search for his father’s killer takes him to rural China. He is accompanied by Shenhua, a mysterious girl from the Bailu Village which is the game’s starting location.

Those new to Shenmue will have the opportunity to catch up to the story thanks to a special “recap digest” movie by Yu Suzuki that is included with the upcoming game.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is an action RPG developed by Koei Tecmo’s Team Ninja and published by Nintendo. It features a large cast of characters from the Marvel Universe including the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Defenders, and the X-Men, all of whom unite in a quest to stop Thanos and his Black Order warmasters from acquiring the Infinity Stones.

The game supports online and local multiplayer with up to four players. Unlike its predecessors from the Marvel Ultimate Alliance series, it is exclusive to Nintendo Switch. Only a standard edition will be released, priced at $59.99.

Iceborne is the first major expansion to Capcom’s action RPG Monster Hunter: World. It delivers significant amounts of new content including an all-new story, a new locale – the Hoarfrost Reach – that is said to be the largest in the game yet, and a Master Rank difficulty tier that is equivalent to the previous installments’ G-rank.

The elements themselves will prove a threat in the snowy Hoarfrost Reach, with the players having to consume hot drinks to stave off the cold. Naturally, there are many returning and new monsters to hunt, including the brand new Elder Dragon Velkhana featured on Iceborne‘s box cover.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is an open-world shooter with survival elements from Ubisoft. Taking place in near future, it puts the player into the shoes of an elite Spec Ops soldier, who after crash-landing on a private island belonging to the Skell Tech corporation, finds himself outnumbered and outgunned by rogue Ghosts.

New features include semi-permanent injuries which can slow down the protagonist or affect his aim, a fatigue system tied to traversing the island’s diverse and often harsh terrain, and enhanced stealth mechanics including mud camouflage. There is also tiered loot, crafting, and a class-based progression system. Breakpoint supports co-op with up to four players, as well as competitive multiplayer PvP. Unlike its predecessor Wildlands, the game requires an active internet connection to play.

Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package is an open-world action-adventure game in which the players take on the role of the leader of the 3rd Street Saints street gang and fight a powerful criminal organization, the Syndicate, in the city of Steelport.

Saints Row: The Third has been out on last-gen platforms for a few years, and now Nintendo Switch is getting its turn. This version of the game isn’t called The Full Package for nothing, as it comes with all previously-released content including three mission packs and over 30 DLC items. The publishing of the port is handled by Deep Silver.
