Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is an upcoming third-person shooter with tower defense elements developed by PopCap Games and published by EA. The game will be out for Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles on February 24th, and for Windows PCs at a later date. It runs on the powerful Frostbite 3 graphics engine and supports 4-player online co-op, competitive plants-versus-zombies online battles with up to 24 players, and also split-screen co-op on the Xbone. There’s no single player campaign in the game.

Pre-order bonuses

Preorder Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare before the launch and you’ll get a Crazy Card Pack and a Super Duper Card Pack. These Booster Packs contain items for customizing the appearance of your characters and possibly changing some gameplay aspects, similarly to Team Fortress 2 which the game is said to be inspired by.

Incidentally, this stuff isn’t retailer-exclusive, so reserve your copy at your favorite store.

Deluxe Edition

Like with many other EA-published titles, the PC-exclusive Deluxe Edition of the game can only be found on Origin. Compared to the regular version, DDX adds 50,000 in-game coins and an exclusive Custom Accessories Pack for a slightly higher price ($34.99 instead of $29.99).

Pre-order trailer

The new trailer advertises the Card Packs that you get for pre-ordering the game.

The release date of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Xbox versions is set for February 25th in North America and February 20th in Europe. The PC version will follow later this spring.
