Devil May Cry 5 is the latest installment in Capcom’s hack’n’slash series Devil May Cry. Dante and Nero make a return as protagonists, and along with a new playable character, V, battle their way through hordes of demons. The franchise is renowned for fast-paced, stylish action, and DmC 5 should be no exception, aided by the fact that it’s running at a slick 60 FPS.

Story-wise, the game takes place several years after the Order of the Sword incident. Young Devil Hunter Nero and his partner Nico race into the Red Grave City, where a giant tree has pierced through the surface and is draining the citizens of their blood. On arrival, he crosses paths with the veteran demon hunter Dante and his mysterious client, V.

Left Alive is a third-person shooter from Square Enix whose development team boasts industry veterans who worked on Metal Gear and Armored Core series. Set in year 2127, it tells the story of three different characters struggling to survive the Garmoniyan invasion of Novo Slava.

The game drops the player into a city turned a burning war zone and swarming with enemy troops, armored vehicles, and towering mechs. Most of Left Alive is played on foot, but there is also giant mech combat toward the latter part of the single-player campaign.

RemiLore: Lost Girl in the Lands of Lore is a roguelite hack-and-slash game with colorful anime-style visuals. It is developed by Pixellore along with REMIMORY, both South Korean indie companies, with physical release handled by Nicalis.

The game follows the adventures of an ordinary schoolgirl, Remi, who finds herself transported to a fantastical world of Ragnoah alongside a talking magic book Lore. Together, Remi and Lore journey through procedurally-generated levels, utilizing over 200 weapons to battle fearsome monsters and bosses, and seeking a way home. In addition to the solo Story Mode, the game also offers a Co-Op Mode for two players.

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame is an open-world action-adventure title, which like its predecessor is developed by TT Games and published by Warner Bros. Like the name suggests, it is based on The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part and is slated two weeks after the film’s release.

Similarly to the first installment, The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame is played from a third-person perspective, with the player taking control of returning and new characters. The game is to feature cutscenes from the film to accompany missions.

Anthem is a sci-fi themed cooperative action RPG developed by BioWare and published by EA. It is set in a world left unfinished by gods, and thus teeming with colossal beasts, otherworldly artifacts, vast ruins, and monsters corrupted by the titular Anthem – the source of all creation.

Mankind’s hopes of survival in this savage place hinge on Freelancers: pilots of powerful and highly-customizable Javelin exosuits, which enable humans to explore the frontier and engage fearsome enemies as equals.

Storyline aside, Anthem functions as an always-online multiplayer game where up to four players can play together in a contiguous open world. The Javelins may be upgraded and customized visually to reflect the player’s achievements. EA has confirmed that Anthem only features coop and not PvP – at least at launch.

Far Cry: New Dawn is an open-world first-person shooter from Ubisoft. It is a spin-off of the main Far Cry series, and a sequel to Far Cry 5. Set 17 years after the events in the latter, it takes place in a post-apocalyptic version of Hope County that is recovering from a nuclear catastrophe.

The player starts as a new, customizable character, exploring and scavenging and crafting their way through the game’s world, and defending the Survivor faction against the marauding Highwaymen led by twin sisters Mickey and Lou. Kingdom Hearts III is a crossover action RPG that takes the players on an adventure through various Disney and Pixar universes. Just Cause 4 is an open-world action-adventure game developed like its predecessor by Avalanche Studios and published by Square Enix. It takes the rogue agent Rico Rodriguez to a conflict-ravaged South American country of Solis, where he has to face the Black Hand – the world’s most powerful private military organization headed by the unpredictable Gabriela Morales.

The game is said to offer 100 square kilometers of exotic locations to explore, including bustling cities, rural grasslands, rainforests, desert, and snowy mountain peaks. Darksiders III is a hack-and-slash action-adventure game developed by Gunfire Games and published by THQ Nordic. The upcoming title’s protagonist is Fury, the most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen. Tasked by the Charred Council to restore balance to the world, this whip-wielding mage sets out on a quest to destroy the Seven Deadly Sins and their degenerated servants that have overrun the Earth.

Fallout 76 is a multiplayer survival game set in West Virginia in year 2102, well before the events in the previous installments. It centers around Vault 76, the inhabitants of which are tasked with rebuilding society a quarter-century after the nuclear apocalypse.

The game is fully online, with a dozen or so players gathering resources and building bases in a shared world that is said to be four times larger than that of Fallout 4. It is possible to work at surviving alone, or in a party with up to four friends. If cooperation ain’t your thing, it is possible to collect launch codes and nuke other players’ bases. Progress isn’t lost upon death, however, and the characters can be freely transferred between servers.

Hitman 2 is a stealth assassination game developed by IO Interactive and published by Warner Bros. It is a direct sequel to the 2016 reboot of the series, and has Agent 47 embarking on a mission to hunt the elusive Shadow Client and learning the hidden truth of his own past.

The official announcement promises a wealth of improvements in the upcoming installment, including NPC vision, better crowd fidelity, and new items such as concussion gadgets. The game features six initial maps, each which living and breathing environments that a player can use to their advantage and take out their targets in creative ways. Hitman 2 will launch as a full game, dropping the episodic nature of its predecessor, albeit there are at least two future expansions in the works.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is an action-adventure game developed by Rockstar Games. Like its award-winning predecessor, it is set in the Old West, and features an open world the player can roam freely on horseback or on foot. According to Rockstar, RDR 2 is biggest game it has ever created in terms of sheer size.

Time-wise, Red Dead Redemption 2 starts in year 1899 – or about a decade before the events in the previous title – and follows a new protagonist: Arthur Morgan, a member of the notorious Van der Linde gang. After a robbery gone wrong, the gang is forced to free across the rugged heartland of America, with nation’s best bounty hunters and federal agents on their heels.

My Hero: One’s Justice is an anime-style fighting game developed by Byking and published by Bandai Namco. Based on the popular manga and anime series My Hero Academia, it allows the players to step into the shoes of either heroes or villains, experience the story from each perspective, and unleash powerful Quirks upon their enemies.

The game features destructible environments based on various locations from the original series. A sidekick system lets the player pick two helpers to perform powerful combos with, albeit the game is still one-on-one and not a tag team fighter. LEGO DC Super-Villains is a third-person action-adventure game developed by Traveller’s Tales and published by Warner Bros for modern consoles and PC. It drops the player into the shoes of a custom-created rookie villain, who will wreak havoc alongside renowned DC supervillains like The Joker, Harley Quinn, and Lex Luthor – and perhaps even save the Earth from a sham Justice League from a parallel universe, who call themselves the “Justice Syndicate”. The game can be played solo or in a local co-op for two players.

Warriors Orochi 4 is a one-versus-thousands beat ’em up game from Omega Force and Koei Tecmo, the latest in the crossover series Warriors Orochi that combines characters from Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors. The game adds several Olympian gods to the mix, which makes for an impressive roster of 170 playable characters.

As the story goes, the heroes of the Three Kingdoms and the Warring States are brought back to the world of Orochi by Zeus himself. His demigod son Perseus rises to fight his meddling father alongside them. The key to returning the world to normal are eight bracelets which possess great power, and the heroes will clash against each other as they strive to obtain them.

Marching Fire is the first expansion for Ubisoft’s melee action title For Honor. It introduces a number of new features, most notably the Wu Lin faction and its four heroes: Tiandi, Jiang Jun, Shaolin, and Nuxia. The bonus for pre-ordering the expansion, as detailed after the jump, is elite outfits for each.

For Honor: Marching Fire introduces two new game modes. The first is the Arcade Mode: an endless PvE experience playable solo or in a co-op, with your progress carrying over to multiplayer. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the eleventh main installment in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series. This time the players journey to Ancient Greece during the Peloponnesian War, a time well before the Assassin Brotherhood was formed in Origins, and take on the role of a Spartan sentenced to death by their family. While there is no Brotherhood, players can still learn abilities from the Assassin skill tree, the other two being Warrior and Hunter, and enjoy a similar playstyle.

In something of a departure from the previous titles, there is a choice between male and female playable protagonists, Alexios and Kassandra. Furthermore, the game offers multiple endings, and the players are free to choose their own path through 30 hours of branching dialogue. There also are romantic options, another first for the franchise. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey also promises massive battles with hundreds of soldiers on the field, sailing and naval combat, underwater exploration, and all-in-all a rich and dynamic open-world experience.

Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise is an action-adventure RPG from Sega. Like its title suggests, the game is based on the famous manga series Fist of the North Star written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara – albeit set in an alternate universe rather than canon.

Players step into the shoes of Kenshiro, a practitioner of the Hokuto Shinken fighting style, and set out into the post-apocalyptic wasteland that Earth was turned into by a nuclear war in search of his lost love Yuria. The gameplay is said to resemble that of Sega’s Yakuza series, with side missions and minigames found in the dilapidated city of Eden providing an occasional break from beating up thugs.

Life Is Strange 2 is a graphic adventure game developed by Dontnod Entertainment and published by Square Enix. It is set in the same universe as the original game, but features a new protagonist: a sixteen-year-old Sean Diaz.
