Assassin's Creed Unity Box Art

AC Unity is an upcoming installment in the highly popular Assassin’s Creed series by Ubisoft. Set in Paris during the French Revolution, it follows Arno Dorian, a young man who joined the Order to avenge the murder of his adoptive father and find the instigators of the bloody revolt. Armed with deadly weapons like the new Phantom Blade (a Hidden Blade with a small crossbow which shoots poison darts), Arno quickly rises through the ranks of the Assassins and uncovers new details about his father’s death.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is the first game in the franchise to include skill trees, and there’s even more customization options available in the form of gear which adds various stats and bonuses to your character. This allows the player to develop their own unique playstyle, and becomes especially important in the co-op mode, where each member can bring something useful to the group. If you want to build the ultimate character, though, never fear: the devs have confirmed that it is possible to unlock all the skills in a single play-through, although that will take a lot of quests and exploration.

Dying Light Box Art

Dying Light is a first-person action / survival horror title developed by Techland, the makers of Dead Island. Like its predecessor, the game is also centered around a zombie apocalypse, but there are numerous changes as well. For one, Dying Light takes place in a slum city, and gives the players the ability to traverse it easily using parkour-style jumping and running. The day and night cycle is a core gameplay element, with the infected becoming stronger and faster in the dark. The idea is to scavenge for supplies during the day, and find shelter before the nightfall, when the truly dangerous monsters come out to play. Even the best player-crafted weapons and traps might not be enough to kill enemies like the fearsome Night Hunter.

LittleBigPlanet 3 Box Art

LBP3 is an upcoming third installment in the core LittleBigPlanet series developed by a British studio Sumo Digital. The game includes three new playable characters – Swoop, Oddsock, and Toggle – each with their own unique powers; Sackboy himself also gains an ability to climb certain objects. In addition, there are new power ups such as the Pumpinator, which releases gusts of wind to move light items.

The Create Mode has also been greatly improved with the removal of the thermometer; HDD space is now the only limit. Furthermore, levels can be made more complex thanks to sixteen available layers, giving them more depth. Players of the previous titles will be happy to hear that LittleBigPlanet 3 is going to be backwards-compatible with the user-created levels from LBP and LBP2, rendering them at a higher resolution in the PS4 version of the game.

Dragon Age: Inquisition Box Art

Dragon Age: Inquisition is an upcoming sequel to the highly popular Dragon Age franchise. After the success of Origins and a lot less well-received DA2, BioWare went back to the drawing board for Inquisition. The new game is said to combine the best elements of its two predecessors; for one, tactical view is making a return, although it is still possible to play in a more action-oriented style with over-the-shoulder camera. Then there’s multiple playable races (including Qunari), more open world exploration, and improved customization for your gear. Finally, borrowing one of the better features of Dragon Age 2, the protagonist of the game – the Inquisitor – is fully voiced.

Inquisition is also the first installment of the series to include multiplayer. It offers cooperative quests which can be played with up to four players, and are separate from the main storyline.
