Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony is a murder-mystery visual novel developed by Spike Chunsoft and published by NIS America in the West. It plays similarly to the previous installments of Danganronpa, but features a new setting and a fresh cast of characters. Characters from the previous games are said to appear in the upcoming game’s bonus modes, however.

Taking place in the Prison School for the Gifted, the game’s protagonist is Kaede Akamatsu, the Ultimate Pianist. Along with fifteen classmates who possess Ultimate talents of their own, Kaede is forced to participate in a mutual killing game by Monokuma, a deranged robotic bear who serves as the school’s headmaster.

Puyo Puyo Tetris Box Art

Puyo Puyo Tetris, a well-received crossover between Puyo Puyo and Tetris series that has been out in Japan since 2014, is coming to the West. Developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega, the game allows up to four players to compete in five different ways (Versus, Fusion, Swap, Big Bang, and Party), or for a single player to take on the adventure mode and various challenges. Players may also upload and share replays and track their ratings online through the Puzzle League.

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition Box Art

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is a remastered version of the 2011 title Bulletstorm, which was released on last-gen consoles. The remake brings updated models, environments, and animations, with smoother framerates and 4K support on PS4 Pro and PC. It includes all DLC from the original, as well as new content such as Overkill campaign mode and new Echo maps.

Bulletstorm is known for its liberal use of profanities and crass humor reminiscent of the Duke Nukem franchise. The game rewards creative, over-the-top kills with currency used to purchase weapons, ammo, and upgrades at dropkits scattered throughout the planet. With its fast-paced gameplay and mindless violence, Bulletstorm has been called a throwback to the straightforward and unpretentious old-school FPS games.

LEGO City Undercover Box Art

LEGO City Undercover, the open-world action-adventure game which had a rather successful launch on the Wii U back in 2013, is getting ported to current-gen consoles including the new Nintendo Switch. The title is developed by TT Fusion and published by Warner Bros.

Taking place in the sprawling Lego City, the game follows a cop named Chase McCain whose many talents include piloting every possible vehicle, using loose bricks to build various objects, and disguising himself to infiltrate criminal gangs. Due to its cartoonish, action-filled gameplay and easy humor, LEGO City Undercover has been called a “kid-friendly Grand Theft Auto” by VentureBeat.

Vikings: Wolves of Midgard Box Art

Vikings: Wolves of Midgard is an isometric action RPG developed by Games Farm and published by Kalypso Media. The game’s world is based on Norse mythology, with mighty Jotan and terrifying undead monsters roaming the lands. As deadly Fimbulwinter winds blow across Midgard, and Ragnarok seems all but inevitable, a band of notorious Viking warriors – the eponymous Wolves of Midgard – stand defiant against the oncoming armies of Frost Giants. The player takes on the role of the clan’s chieftain, as either a warrior or a shieldmaiden.

The game can be played solo or in a two player online co-op. The “New Game+” feature provides a measure of replayability, and a special challenge mode called “Trials of the Gods” rewards the best fighters with powerful equipment and runes.

Yooka-Laylee Box Art

Yooka-Laylee is a 3D platformer developed by Playtonic Games and published by Team17. Successfully funded via Kickstarter, the game’s development team includes key personnel who worked on Banjo-Kazooie, which the upcoming Yooka-Laylee is a spiritual successor to.

The game follows the eponymous Yooka and Laylee, a buddy duo who embark on an adventure to thwart corporate creep Capital B’s plan to absorb all the world’s books and turn them into pure profit. The two characters have unlockable abilities, and gameplay can be further customized by equipping Play Tonics to enhance their stats or provide entertaining visual effects. Yooka-Laylee also offers a local co-op for two players, as well as online multiplayer with eight different minigames.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 Box Art

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is a first-person tactical shooter developed and published by CI Games. It is the first installment in the series to boast an AAA-tier budget, resulting in a game that is much larger in scale, with an open world that can be freely explored by players when not on the main mission. Players may use different approaches to complete missions, such as stealthy melee kills or sniping enemies from distance. There is also a safehouse where weapons can be modified, and supplies replenished.

The main character of Ghost Warrior 3 is Jon North, an American Marine on a mission in the war-torn republic of Georgia. While he is there on orders and working to prevent the country from collapsing into chaos, Jon also has a personal vendetta to pursue.
