The Surge 2 is a sci-fi action RPG developed by Deck 13 and published by Focus Home Interactive and Maximum Games. The game begins with the player waking up inside an abandoned detention facility in Jericho city following a plane crash. The military is enforcing martial law, the robots are rampaging, and an expanding nanostorm looms in the sky.

Much like the original title, the sequel features a melee combat system which encourages players to rip armored limbs off their enemies and use them to upgrade their own exo-rig. Instead of playing as Warren (the protagonist of The Surge), however, players create their own character. The sequel’s world is more expansive and open, made up of interconnected urban areas each with their set of quests and NPCs. There also are new weapon types, armor, implants, consumables, and companion drones wielding ranged weaponry.

Contra: Rogue Corps is a top-down run-and-gun game from Konami that picks up after the events of the classic Contra III: The Alien Wars (1992). Players assume the roles of the titular Rogue Corps – Kaiser, Ms. Harakiri, The Gentleman, and Hungry Beast – who are supported by the newcomer Aero Captain. Their mission? Enter the Damned City that arose on the grounds of the final battles, and shoot every alien in sight.

The game can be played solo or in a co-op of up to four. There is also a PvP mode with two different rulesets.

Borderlands 3 is a first-person shooter with RPG elements, which like its predecessors is developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games. It stars four new Vault Hunters – Moze the gunner, Amara the siren, FL4K the beastmaster, and Zane the operative – who seek to stop the fanatical Calypso Twins from claiming the galaxy’s ultimate power.

For the first time, the game features new worlds beyond the planet of Pandora, each with their own unique environments and enemies. As usual, there are endless guns to loot – including ones which grow legs and chase down enemies while hurling insults – and with alternate firing modes at that. The latest installment in EA Sports’ hockey simulator series makes NHL stars more authentic with new Signature Shots powered by the company’s Real Player Motion Tech. The biggest plays are said to look even better thanks to a revamped broadcast package, and there are three new game modes to boot. HUT Squad Battles feature weekly teams to challenge for unique rewards, ONES can now be played with friends on the couch, and the Eliminator offers a brand new battle royale format competition.

NASCAR Heat 4 is a racing game based off the 2019 NASCAR season that includes the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, and the Xtreme Dirt Tour.

Developer Monster Games and publisher 704Games promise the biggest visual and sound improvements in a decade, as well as new features like track map and unlockable paint schemes, smarter AI, drafting, and an enhanced Career mode.

Gears 5 is an upcoming installment in the Gears of War shooter franchise developed by The Coalition. As an Xbox Play Anywhere title, the same digital copy can be played on Xbox One consoles and Windows 10 PCs. The game will be included in the Xbox Game Pass library at launch. There is no season pass, and all new maps added post-launch will be available for free.

The protagonist of Gears 5 is Kait Diaz, an Outsider turned Gear who is tormented by visions of the Swarm and goes AWOL in search for answers. The game is said to have “the deepest campaign yet” as well as five multiplayer modes including Escape: a new class-based co-op mode where three players work against the clock (and a bunch of Swarm) to blow up a Hive and get out alive.

GreedFall is a single-player fantasy RPG from an independent French studio Spiders. The game’s art direction is inspired by 17th century Europe, and it takes place on a fictional continent of the Old World that is plagued by overpopulation, pollution, and an incurable epidemic. The only hope is a newly discovered land, Teer Fradee, where the game’s protagonist sails off to establish a colony – yet the island is teeming with fantastical creatures and magic-wielding locals.

GreedFall promises a high degree of freedom both in character progression and the way players can approach their objectives. Quests can be accomplished through combat, diplomacy, or deception, and choices made throughout the game influence the story.

eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 is the latest association football simulator from Konami. Among the game’s licensed clubs are names like Arsenal, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Juventus, with whom Konami has an exclusive deal.

In addition to updated rosters, PES 2020 also brings gameplay enhancements, such as the new Finesse Dribble system and smarter AI. The Master League has been revamped, and an entirely new Matchday mode has been added, with competition events linked to real derby match schedules.

Iceborne is the first major expansion to Capcom’s action RPG Monster Hunter: World. It delivers significant amounts of new content including an all-new story, a new locale – the Hoarfrost Reach – that is said to be the largest in the game yet, and a Master Rank difficulty tier that is equivalent to the previous installments’ G-rank.

Latest in 2K’s long-running basketball simulator series, NBA 2K20 is said to deliver best-in-class graphics and gameplay, fan-favorite game modes, and improved player control and customization. WRC 8 is the official video game of the 2019 FIA World Rally Championship, bringing 52 teams, 14 rallies, and 100 special stages to the screen. Man of Medan is the first installment in Supermassive Games’ anthology of standalone supernatural horror games The Dark Pictures. The story follows a group of young divers on vacation who are kidnapped and trapped on a ghost ship. The game has a branching storyline with multiple endings, and the choices the player makes decide which characters live and die.

Control is a third-person action-adventure title developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by 505 Games. The game centers around a secret government agency – the Federal Bureau of Control – that deals with supernatural threats, and takes place entirely within a massive skyscraper that houses its headquarters.

The players take on the role of Jesse Faden, who is put in charge of the Bureau right after the previous Director is killed. Imbued with supernatural abilities and wielding the Director’s transforming weapon, she must face an otherworldly force known as the Hiss and retake control.

MXGP 2019 is the latest motorcross simulator from Italian developer Milestone. It includes all the season’s riders, bikes, and teams of MXGP and MX2 classes, allowing the player to experience official race events from all around the world.

Wreckfest is a demolition derby racer from Finnish developer Bugbear Entertainment that is said to be a spiritual successor to their FlatOut series. One of Wreckfest‘s most touted features is the physics-based collision system that realistically affects driving depending on which part of the vehicle is damaged.

Remnant: From the Ashes is a third-person survival co-op shooter developed by Gunfire Games (best known for Darksiders III). The game is set in a post-apocalyptic Earth ravaged by an ancient interdimensional evil known as the Root. Humanity’s only hope is the technology to open portals to other worlds, allowing them to scavenge for resources and carve out new footholds as they seek to defeat the Root.

These alternate worlds feature unique biomes and are generated dynamically, resulting in new maps, encounters, quests, and world events each time. Age of Wonders: Planetfall is a 4X turn-based strategy game developed by Triumph Studios and published by Paradox Interactive. In a departure from its fantasy roots, Planetfall is sci-fi themed and involves up to six factions with unique units and technologies vying for control over alien worlds.

Planetfall offers several diverse game modes: the single-player story campaign, randomly-generated maps, and multiplayer (online, hotseat, and asynchronous). The matches have multiple paths to victory by employing conquest, diplomacy, or doomsday technologies.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a co-op shooter developed by MachineGames in conjunction with Arkane Studios, and published by Bethesda. It can be played solo or by two players each taking control of one of the protagonists.

Timeline-wise, the game is set between Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and the future third and final installment of the trilogy, taking place nineteen years after the events of the former. It serves as a side-story featuring the Blazkowicz sisters, who set out to Nazi-controlled Paris in search of their missing-in-action father.

Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle is a major expansion to Omega Force and Koei Tecmo’s 2018 title Attack on Titan 2, which is based on the worldwide hit anime series. The expansion adds a new Territory Recovery Mode, in which aspiring commanders form their own corps, complete with a unique name and emblem, and battle to reclaim the land outside of the walls. Any playable character, including the custom-made Scout from the last year’s AoT2, can be assigned as the leader. There is also a new Shooting Gear where the traditional blades are replaced by weapons.
