Forza Horizon 4 is a racing game developed by Playground Games and published by Microsoft exclusively for Xbox One and Windows 10. As it is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, a digital purchase for Xbox entitles one to a free Windows 10 copy (not available with boxed versions of FH4).

The game is set in Great Britain, and allows the player to drive more than 450 cars across its scenic landscapes. One of its most touted new features is dynamic seasons, which challenge the drivers with ever-changing dry, wet, muddy, snowy, and icy road conditions.

In contrast to the Forza Motorsport series, Forza Horizon tends to have a more relaxed, arcade-like atmosphere, and the latest installment is no exception to the rule. Much like its predecessor, it boasts an open world, this time shared between players, albeit still playable offline. There are also casual and ranked team multiplayer modes.

Fallout 76 is a multiplayer survival game set in West Virginia in year 2102, well before the events in the previous installments. It centers around Vault 76, the inhabitants of which are tasked with rebuilding society a quarter-century after the nuclear apocalypse.

The game is fully online, with a dozen or so players gathering resources and building bases in a shared world that is said to be four times larger than that of Fallout 4. It is possible to work at surviving alone, or in a party with up to four friends. If cooperation ain’t your thing, it is possible to collect launch codes and nuke other players’ bases. Progress isn’t lost upon death, however, and the characters can be freely transferred between servers.

Anthem Box Art

Anthem is a sci-fi themed cooperative action RPG developed by BioWare and published by EA. It is set in a world left unfinished by gods, and thus teeming with colossal beasts, otherworldly artifacts, vast ruins, and monsters corrupted by the titular Anthem – the source of all creation.

Mankind’s hopes of survival in this savage place hinge on Freelancers: pilots of powerful and highly-customizable Javelin exosuits, which enable humans to explore the frontier and engage fearsome enemies as equals.

Storyline aside, Anthem functions as an always-online multiplayer game where up to four players can play together in a contiguous open world. The Javelins may be upgraded and customized visually to reflect the player’s achievements. EA has confirmed that Anthem only features coop and not PvP – at least at launch.
