The 2017 version of Yakuza Kiwami is a full remake of the very first title in Sega’s long-lived Yakuza series. The game runs in 1080p and at 60 FPS, and features re-recorded audio by the original Japanese voice actors. There also are new mini-games, enhanced fighting mechanics, additional cutscenes, and the “Majima Everywhere” system, where Kiryu’s deranged rival Goro Majima will pop-up to challenge him to combat when he least expects it.
Priced at $29.99, the limited first-run copies of Yakuza Kiwami come with an exclusive steelbook case displayed above. This Steelbook Edition will be available while supplies last, so securing your copy via pre-order might be wise as they’re unlikely to stay around for long after launch.
The Western release of Yakuza Kiwami is limited to PlayStation 4. The game is set to launch on August 29, 2017.
