Past Cure is a third-person action thriller developed by Phantom 8, an indie studio based in Germany. The game’s protagonist is Ian, an elite soldier who for many years was subjected to horrifying human trials and locked away in a dark prison somewhere in Europe. Upon escaping, he seeks revenge on the people responsible.

The experiments granted Ian the powers of time manipulation and astral projection, but the price was his sanity: his madness grows every time he uses his supernatural abilities. Thus the gameplay of Past Cure takes place in two opposing worlds – the real one, where the focus is combat, and the nightmare world with survival horror and puzzle solving.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is a JRPG and third-person shooter based on the popular anime and light novel series by Reki Kawahara. The game takes place in Gun Gale Online, a fictional VRMMO in which a player named Death Gun has started killing people in real life.

Unlike in the previous Sword Art Online games, the protagonist of Fatal Bullet is a custom character. The players have the option of going through the story solo or making a party of up to four members with customizable AI. There is also online multiplayer with co-op and competitive 4v4 modes.

Metal Gear Survive is an action-adventure game developed and published by Konami. In a departure from the main series, it takes place in an alternate reality, where survivors of the Mother Base’s destruction in Ground Zeroes were transported through a wormhole. In a harsh desert world infested by crystal-headed zombies, they have to defend their base, farm for food, and craft the items necessary for survival.

Metal Gear Survive offers both a single-player campaign and a co-op mode for up to four players. The former focuses on stealthy exploration of the game’s world, while the latter has the players working together to accomplish various missions. Dynasty Warriors 9 is a hack-and-slash game developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo in the West. It features the classic one-vs-thousands battles of Dynasty Warriors series, while adding new elements, most notably an open world map. The players may now freely traverse the expansive lands of China during the Three Kingdoms period on foot, horseback, or boat, and purchase hideouts in major cities.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an open-world action RPG developed by Czech company Warhorse Studios, and published by Deep Silver. It is set in 15th-century Bohemia, a part of the Holy Roman Empire, during the time of great upheaval following the death of emperor Charles IV. Players take on the role of Henry, the son of a humble blacksmith. After his family and entire village is massacred by an invading army, he is drafted into the service of lord Radzig Kobyla, who is leading the resistance.

The game boasts historically-accurate medieval combat: for example, sword blows against armor are deflected, so the player has to find and exploit weaknesses in the opponent’s defenses. A classless system is used for character advancement, and proficiency in different weapons as well as skills like lock-picking can be freely learned without restrictions to character archetypes.

Monster Energy Supercross is an officially-licensed motocross game developed by Italian studio Milestone and published by Square Enix. Railway Empire is a train tycooon sim developed by Gaming Minds Studios and published by Kalypso Media. Set in mid-19th century United States, it tasks the player with establishing the dominant rail empire in all of North America. In order to do this, it will be necessary to create an elaborate rail network, maintain and upgrade trains, and outmaneuver the competition.

According to the officially published information, the game features over 40 historically-accurate locomotives and more than 30 different wagons. Dragon Ball FighterZ is a 2.5D fighting game developed by Japanese company Arc System Works and published by Bandai Namco for current-gen consoles and Windows PCs. Monster Hunter World is an open-world action RPG developed and published by Capcom. As the fifth main entry in their highly successful Monster Hunter series, it introduces seamless transitions between zones, larger maps, and an online co-op for up to four players without region lock.

The game has the player take on the role of a hunter on a research expedition to a newly discovered continent. It offers fourteen varied weapon types, such as dual blades, greatsword, lance, and bow, each with unique attacks and status effects. Furthermore, it is possible to switch between weapons mid-quest.

EA’s latest installment in the Battlefront franchise brings improvements across the board, most notably a proper single-player campaign and a revamped multiplayer. The campaign’s story is told from the perspective of the Imperials and picks up right at the end of The Return of the Jedi; it is centered around an elite squad commander Iden Versio, who vows revenge on the Rebels following the destruction of the second Death Star.

The multiplayer in Battlefront II spans the entire Star Wars timeline and includes playable heroes from the prequels as well as the new trilogy. The game retains the original reboot’s 20 vs 20 multiplayer mode, but expands it to include “galactic-scale” space combat, a feature that was much requested by the fans. The Sims 4, the popular life simulation game developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts, is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in November this year. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is an action-adventure game developed by Traveller’s Tales and published by Warner Bros. It retains the core gameplay mechanics of its well-received predecessor, with the player controlling various Marvel characters with unique powers.

The villain threatening the Lego Marvel universe in this installment is the time-traveling Kang the Conqueror. Sonic Forces is the latest installment in Sega’s most popular action platformer franchise. It combines three gamestyles: Classic Sonic, which is played in a side-scrolling 2D view; Modern Sonic with 3D levels similar to those in Sonic Colors or Sonic Generations; and, lastly, Hero Character stages played with a custom character. There also are Tag Team levels, where Sonic and the hero character work together.

Developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision, Call of Duty: WWII returns to the series’ roots. Assassin’s Creed Origins is an open-world action RPG set in Ancient Egypt. Like its name suggests, the game depicts the beginnings of the Assassin Brotherhood. Its protagonist is Bayek, the last warrior of the Medjay order, who have served as agents of the pharaoh and protected Egypt from threats for centuries until the Greek dynasty of Ptolemies took over. His wife Aya is also playable in certain missions.

Unlike the previous Assassin’s Creed installments, Origins features a RPG-like skill tree divided into Warrior, Hunter, and Seer categories. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is a first-person shooter developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda. The game picks up right after the events in The New Order, and centers around returning protagonist BJ Blazkowicz igniting a revolution in the Nazi-ruled America with help from some new allies.
