This game was released on October 05, 2018 and is no longer available to pre-order. Any incentives that were offered are listed below.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the eleventh main installment in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series. This time the players journey to Ancient Greece during the Peloponnesian War, a time well before the Assassin Brotherhood was formed in Origins, and take on the role of a Spartan sentenced to death by their family. While there is no Brotherhood, players can still learn abilities from the Assassin skill tree, the other two being Warrior and Hunter, and enjoy a similar playstyle.
In something of a departure from the previous titles, there is a choice between male and female playable protagonists, Alexios and Kassandra. Furthermore, the game offers multiple endings, and the players are free to choose their own path through 30 hours of branching dialogue. There also are romantic options, another first for the franchise. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey also promises massive battles with hundreds of soldiers on the field, sailing and naval combat, underwater exploration, and all-in-all a rich and dynamic open-world experience.

AC: Odyssey Editions Chart
Before we really delve into the special editions, of which there are many, a quick scan of this chart (courtesy of Ubisoft) should clear some things up. While it does not include any of the pricier Collector’s Editions, everything from Standard to Gold and Ultimate is clearly compared.
Deluxe Edition ($79.99)
Available digitally and at retail, the Deluxe Edition allows the player to start their journey as Alexios or Kassandra already equipped with powerful gear from the Deluxe Pack:
- XP & Drachma Boost
- Kronos Gear Pack
- Herald of Dusk Gear Pack
- Capricornus Naval Pack
Gold Edition ($99.99)
The digital Gold Edition comes bundled with the following extras:
- Season Pass (All Story Content)
- “Secrets of Greece” Bonus Mission
- Three Day Early Access (with pre-order)
Perhaps a little counter-intuitively, the Deluxe Pack of the previous edition is not included in this one, so bear that in mind.
Gold Steelbook Edition ($109.99)
Like the name suggests, the physical Gold Steelbook Edition adds a Steelbook case on top of the aforementioned digital content. This bumps the price up another ten dollars.
Ultimate Edition ($119.99)
The digital-only Ultimate Edition comes with all the extra DLC mentioned so far:
- Deluxe Pack:
- XP & Drachma Boost
- Kronos Gear Pack
- Herald of Dusk Gear Pack
- Capricornus Naval Pack
- Season Pass (All Story Content)
- “Secrets of Greece” Bonus Mission
- Three Day Early Access (with pre-order)
Kassandra Edition ($149.99)
Kassandra Edition only the first of several Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Collector’s Editions available. It is exclusive to GameStop in the States, and includes the following:
- 9″ tall Kassandra statue by Ubicollectibles
- Three Day Early Access (with pre-order)
- All Ultimate Edition content including Deluxe Pack, Season Pass, as well as The Blind King and Secrets of Greece missions
- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Steelbook
Spartan Collector Edition ($159.99)
Next in the lineup is the Spartan Collector Edition exclusive to Ubisoft’s official store:
- 15.55″ Alexios statue by Ubicollectibles
- Three Day Early Access (with pre-order)
- All Ultimate Edition content including Deluxe Pack, Season Pass, as well as The Blind King and Secrets of Greece missions
- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Steelbook
- 64-page art book featuring the original designs and concept art from Ubisoft Quebec artists
- Exclusive lithograph by Hugo Puzzuoli from Ubisoft Quebec
- A printed version of the game’s hand-drawn world map
- Select game soundtrack
Pantheon Collector Edition ($219.99)
In the Pantheon Collector Edition, Alexios statue is joined by that of an Athenian enemy, forming a dynamic Nemesis Diorama (total height 39.5cm, width 65cm). There are no other differences between the contents of this and the previous edition.
Alexios Legendary Figurine ($749.00)
Last but not least in any sense of the word is the Alexios Legendary Figurine, once again exclusive to Ubisoft Store and carrying a rather hefty price tag. Standing a total of 68cm tall (the apple is for scale, we suppose) it features protagonist Alexios in a fighting stance atop a Medusa head, wearing the iconic Hero of Sparta outfit and armed with the Broken Spear of Leonidas.
This is it when it comes to your choices of purchasing AC: Odyssey, at least for those of us here in the US. Not pictured above is the Medusa Edition sold in UK, Australia, and New Zealand, which comes with a Gorgon statue.
Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey will be out October 5th, 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PCs. Pre-orders of Gold, Ultimate, and higher editions get to start their odyssey through Ancient Greece three days early, on October 2.
