Assassin's Creed: Revelations

  • Genre
  • Platform
    PC, PS3, X360
  • Release date
    Nov 15, 2011
    Nov 29, 2011

This game was released on November 15, 2011 and is no longer available to pre-order. Any incentives that were offered are listed below.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is an upcoming action-adventure game by Ubisoft, and a sequel to Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. It will take place in Constantinople in 1511 AD for the most part, where you will play as Ezio and attempt to unlock a powerful artifact that could be used against the Templars. Desmond in modern days, and Altair in the past will also be controllable in various stages of the game.

The gameplay of AC:R will be similar to the previous installments in the franchise, but some new elements will be introduced too. One of these is the hookblade, a weapon which will allow Ezio to use zip-lines to navigate the city faster, as well as pull enemies in for a finishing blow. Another addition is a crafting system that will let you make bombs of various types.

AC: Revelations will also include a multiplayer mode with new maps and characters. The players will be able to customize their appearance and choose their own weapon.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations preorder bonus list

The situation with AC:R pre-order incentives in the US is somewhat one-sided, seeing how the beefy Signature Edition is only available at one retailer:

  • GameStop is offering the Signature Edition of the game which includes an extra single player mission, enhanced weapon capabilities, bonus multiplayer character, an animated short film, and the original game soundtrack. Signature Edition is exclusive to GameStop.
  • Amazon will reward you with an exclusive Altair outfit skin, which allows Ezio to don the wardrobe of his legendary predecessor for the game’s entire single-player campaign. Console versions also get a free pair of TriOviz 3D glasses which enable 3D gameplay on most 2D HDTVs. On the other hand, PC gamers can get 15% off the PC version by preordering via Amazon Game Downloads.
  • BestBuy will give you an exclusive multiplayer character, the Crusader.
  • Walmart has an Armor of Brutus skin for Ezio (console versions only).
  • Steam: preordering the PC version of AC:R with them will get you an Ottoman Doctor multiplayer character.

Besides the standard one, the game will also have several editions with extra content – namely Special Edition, Collectors Edition, Animus Edition, and the Ultimate Bundle. Needless to say, these will come with a higher price tag as well.

Find out what items they contain below (keep in mind some editions might not be available in your region). US gamers should be looking at the Ultimate Bundle:

AC:R Ultimate Bundle contents

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Ultimate Bundle will cost you $100 for the console version and $90 for the PC one at GameStop. It includes the aforementioned Signature Edition, as well as two impressive collectibles:

Ezio Collectible Figure

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood 7″ Ezio Collectable: a highly detailed figure with over 30 points of articulation. Figure stands nearly 7 inch tall and comes with interchangeable hands and a sword accessory. It features retractable blades on the gauntlets to re-enact Ezio’s stealth attacks.

da Vinci Flying Machine

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood da Vinci’s Flying Machine: a highly detailed replica of da Vinci’s Flying Machine, the awesome glider as seen in the Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. The glider wingspan extends over 2 feet and wings and tail are articulated. A 6″ to 7″ scale figure can be placed in the harness underneath and the cannon pivots and fires a spring loaded projectile. Closed Box Packaging, some assembly required.

AC:R Special Edition contents

  • Original game soundtrack
  • In-game Turkish Assassin Armour

Gents…. Ladies of all ages… Ahem! You all should realize that Ezio is going to have to age in order for the story to progress! He is seventeen years of age at the start of Assassin’s Creed 2 and forty by the end of the game. His birth year is 1459… AC2 starts 1476… that puts him as seventeen years old. The end of the game is 1499 where he is 40 years old. Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood starts in the same year that the second game left off… 1499. Where he is 40… then it spans to 1500 where he turns 41…. by the end of the game he is 48 and it is the year 1507. Assassin’s Creed Revelations appears to start a few years later in 1511 where Ezio is now 52! He is not 65 and nor will he ever be! Ezio dies in the year 1524 at the age of 64! I advice everyone to read up on the Assassin’s Creed Wiki… it is crucial!

why r all of u retarded exept like 2 ppl? Ezio is early to mid 50’s, Altiar is Ezio’s great, great, great, great, great (thats 5 greats) grandfather, and Ezio is Desmond’s great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather, (thats 6 greats) thats why Desmond can relive their memories (blood kin) if Ezio or Altiar married into Ezio’s Bloodline they wouldn’t be blood related and Desmond wouldn’t be able to access their memories . And for the love of GOD it is Revalations not Revalutions u retards its not Quantum Physics it Grammar that they taught u in 1st grade

    • Anonymous's avatar
      November 22, 2011 at 02:59

Actually Ezio is from Desmond’s father’s side and Altiar is from Desmond’s Mothers side those two combined genes allows Desmond to relive both! That’s what I heard at least.

America got screwed out of all of the collector’s editions! That sucks! WTF Ubisoft?! Every other AC game had a cool collector’s edition bundle here, so when the final game in Ezio’s story comes out you drop the ball? I’m pissed off I won’t be able to get that Animus edition encyclopedia and all the character skins and multiplayer characters. I’M SICK OF RETAIL EXCLUSIVES!!! STOP!!!

I’m quite sure all in game goodies that you get from special edition releases of the game will be available as dlc for all platforms. As for the books, action figure etc… we’re just out of luck. The developers know that those of us who didn’t get the in game stuff will want (and pay) for it.
It’s a bit of a double edged sword in my opinion to do it this way. On one hand, it’s rather ingenious that the developers know that they can milk us out of a few more bucks for the extra content. On the other hand, it’s rather underhanded and greedy that the developers know that they can milk us out of a few more bucks for the extra content. lol
Better stock up on Microsoft points or whatever platform version of cyber cash you use.
I’m just itching to run some loud mouthed civilian through with the vlad the impaler sword… and perhaps a guard or two. And bad enough to shell out a few more bucks to do it.
