FIFA 20 (Special Editions & Differences)

FIFA 20 is the latest installment in EA’s popular football simulator franchise, bringing a number of officially-licensed leagues and teams as well as new gameplay features. A system EA calls Authentic Game Flow grants AI players a better understanding of positioning on the pitch to better support the user-controlled player, and new ball physics are claimed to elevate the gameplay to new levels of realism.

Perhaps the most exciting new feature is the FIFA Street-inspired Volta game mode, which involves 3v3, 4v4, or 5v5 matches with or without goalkeepers taking place in various urban locations around the world. There is a Volta story mode similar to The Journey from the previous FIFA installments, as well as an online Volta League.

Standard Edition ($59.99)

Pre-order the standard edition of FIFA 20 to receive the following:

At the time of writing, Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart all have the standard edition of the game discounted by approximately $10.

Champions Edition ($79.99)

The Champions Edition is a step-up from the standard:

• Up to 12 FIFA 20 Ultimate Team Rare Gold Packs (1 per week for 12 weeks)
• Choose one of five mid-version Loan ICON Items for 5 FUT matches
• Special Edition FUT Kits

Ultimate Edition ($99.99)

The Ultimate Edition is a special case in that it will only be available for pre-order until August 5. It contains the following extras:

• Untradeable FUT 20 Ones To Watch Player Item
• 3 Days Early Access (starting September 24th)
• Up To 24 FIFA 20 Ultimate Team Rare Gold Packs (2 per week for 12 weeks)
• Choose one of five mid-version Loan ICON Items for 5 FUT matches
• Special Edition FUT Kits

FIFA 20 officially launches on September 27, but those who pre-order Champions or Ultimate editions can start playing on September 23. EA Access subscribers can do so even sooner starting September 19.

In addition to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC (Origin), the game will also be out for Nintendo Switch – but only in the form of a Legacy Edition. That means it will be lacking Volta and other new features, instead only providing updated team rosters and kits.
