This sequel to the critically acclaimed puzzle platformer LittleBigPlanet provides the fans with new means to Play, Create and Share. LBP2 features numerous improvements over the first game: better graphics, a brand new story, and most importantly – greater freedom in creating new levels.

In LittleBigPlanet 2 you will be able to create not only classic platformer levels, but puzzle, role-playing and top-down racing ones as well. The game (or should I say, platform for making games) will also include a selection of licenced music, as well as a sequencer for making your own soundtracks.

Since LBP is such a community-driven game, Media Molecule are making sure the existing LittleBigPlanet levels are be backwards compatible with the second game (although that might not work if you used any glitches). All content you downloaded you have will also be available.

LittleBigPlanet 2 trailer

Sackboy’s craft world is in danger, and it’s up to him to save it! Watch this LBP2 trailer which shows off some of the new features of the game like the Creatinator, the Sackbots and the Power Gloves. The Negativitron also makes an appearance.

LittleBigPlanet 2 will support the PlayStation Move controller, but it isn’t a Move-exclusive title and will only have Move controls enabled for certain bonus levels. You can find more information about the upcoming game on the official website.
