Monster Hunter Rise is an upcoming entry in the popular action RPG series. The game is set in a ninja-inspired Kamura village, which the player will have to protect from the Rampage, a calamity that ravaged the land 50 years ago and is about to occur again.
As usual, the new installment brings both returning and new monsters to hunt, including the new flagship monster Magnamalo, whose amiibo figure is included in the Collector’s Edition. The Wirebug mechanic grants new traversal and aerial attack abilities, and new hunting partners called Palamutes can be personalized and used to ride across the map. Monster Hunter Rise can be played solo or with up to three other players in local and online co-op.
Pre-order Bonuses
Pre-order Monster Hunter Rise to receive cosmetic Layered Armor for your Palamute and Palico:
- Palamute Golden Retriever Costume layered armor
- Palico Forest Cat Costume layered armor
- Stat Boosting Novice Talisman for extra assistance in the early stages
The official website suggests that these bonuses will be offered separately at some point after launch.

The Deluxe Edition of Monster Hunter Rise adds the following content to the base game:

Monster Hunter Rise amiibo
Monster Hunter Rise has three amiibo figures, including the Magnamalo which can be bought separately or as a part of the aforementioned Collector’s Edition. Each amiibo unlocks a bonus layered armor and also allows the player to play a daily in-game lottery at Kagero the Merchant’s shop and win useful items.
In the US the amiibos are exclusive to GameStop:
- Palico amiibo ($19.99): unlocks the Sinister Seal layered armor for the Palico
- Palamute amiibo ($19.99): unlocks the Sinister Seal layered armor for the Palamute
- Magnamalo amiibo ($24.99): unlocks the Sinister Seal layered armor for the Hunter
Monster Hunter Rise is expected to launch on March 26, 2021 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
