Phoenix Point is developed by an independent Bulgarian studio Snapshot Games, which is headed by a maker of the cult-classic X-COM. As X-COM‘s spiritual successor, Phoenix Point combines a strategic world view called Geoscape with tactical turn-based battles. It features destructible environments, extensive soldier customization, and plenty of weapons and gear acquired through trading, conflict, or research.

Phoenix Point takes place in a post-apocalyptic Earth devastated by a virus that mutated most of its life forms into alien monsters. Notably, these aliens evolve and adapt to the player’s tactics through procedural generation. The remains of humanity broke up into factions that the player may ally with to gain access to their resources and unique technologies.
