This game was released on February 25, 2014 and is no longer available to pre-order. Any incentives that were offered are listed below.
Thief is an action-adventure game which, as expected from the title, is highly focused on stealth rather than combat. The player takes control of a master thief named Garrett, who sets out to steal from the rich in the sprawling industrial metropolis known simply as “The City”. The fourth title in the series, Thief is a complete reboot with a reinvented main character and a slightly different visual style – less wood and gold, and more “rusty stuff where you see the welding”, according to the devs.
Pre-order Thief 4 to get a bonus “The Bank Heist” mission where you’ll have to steal a valuable item from the Stonemarket First Bank. This DLC is not retailer-exclusive.
Speaking of exclusives, GameStop seems to be the only store which is offering anything. Pre-ordering the game there will net you the official Thief soundtrack (10 tracks composed by Luc St. Pierre and performed by the Prague Philharmonic orchestra) as well as the Thief Companion App for Android ($2.99 value), which lets you keep track of Garrett’s inventory in the game.
That aside, PC gamers can save 10% by pre-purchasing the game on Steam (either the standard or the Master Thief Edition, the latter of which includes a digital art book, comic, official game soundtrack, and a Booster Pack with in-game consumables).
Thief is set to be out on February 25th in North America, February 27th in Australia, and February 28th in Europe. It will run on both previous-gen and current Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as Windows PCs.
