Game of Thrones is an upcoming action RPG based on the award-winning A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy saga by George R. R. Martin. The game is developed by Cyanide studio and published by Atlus (North America) and Focus Home Interactive (Europe). It uses Unreal Engine 3 graphics.
Game of Thrones RPG lets you to play two original characters and visit many familiar regions of Westeros during its 30 hours of gameplay. The two playable protagonists can be customized by choosing a class, skills, equipment, and so on. According to the publisher’s website, character interaction is an important aspect of the game, and dialogue can help you solve problems and complete your goals without resorting to violence.
Gamers who pre-order Game of Thrones RPG from participating retailers – Amazon, Gamestop, and HBO Store – will receive a 64-page hardbound artbook (displayed above). Titled Game of Thrones: Visuals from the RPG, it contains full-color sketches, renders, photos, and screenshots. Furthermore, you will also receive a portrait of the development team signed by George R. R. Martin himself. According to the officials, supplies are “very limited”, so it might be wise to pre-order the RPG early if you want to snag this bonus.
The first official trailer gives you a glimpse of the upcoming game, and introduces the two main characters: Mors of the Night’s Watch, and Alester the Red Priest.
Game of Thrones is set to release on May 15th in North America. The European publisher has set the game’s release to June 1st.
