Dragon Ball FighterZ Box Art

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a 2.5D fighting game developed by Japanese company Arc System Works and published by Bandai Namco for current-gen consoles and Windows PCs. The game uses a 3v3 format, with players selecting three characters from the wildly popular Dragon Ball franchise to form a team. The characters can tag in and out of combat at any time, and call for assists to perform combos with the entire team.

As expected of a competitive fighting game, Dragon Ball FighterZ runs in 1080p at 60 FPS, save for the action cutscenes where it intentionally drops the framerate to achieve an anime-like look.

Cuphead Box Art

Cuphead is a run-and-gun action game developed by indie company StudioMDHR Entertainment. Its plot centers around the titular character, Cuphead, fighting increasingly difficult bosses to repay a debt to the devil. The game is notable for being drawn in the style of 1930s cartoons. It features a branching level design, and offers a local co-op, with the second player assuming the role of a similar cartoonish character, Mugman.

Cuphead is to be released digitally for Xbox One and Windows 10. As it is a part of Xbox Play Anywhere program, purchasing a single copy allows you to play on both platforms.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life Box Art

The Yakuza franchise of action-adventure games renowned for realistic urban environments, over-the-top brawling, and silly shenanigans is getting another installment. Titled Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, the upcoming game deals with the final chapter of protagonist Kazuma Kiryu’s story. Returning from a three-year stint in prison, Kazuma finds his surrogate daughter Haruka missing from the orphanage, and sets out to investigate.

Publisher Sega promises visual improvements thanks to Yakuza 6 being built from the ground up on a new Dragon Engine. For the first time in the series, the game will be fully voiced in Japanese. The players will get to explore the modernized streets of Kamurocho, the largest red-light district in Tokyo, as well as the scenic coastal town of Onomichi.

Pure Farming 2018 Box Art

Pure Farming 2018 is a farming simulator developed by Polish studio Ice Flames and published by Technland. According to the official website, the game includes almost all aspects of modern farming: animal husbandry, field cultivation, orchards, greenhouses, and so on. The vehicles used in the game are officially licensed and faithfully recreated, and include brands like Zetor, Landini, McCormick, Kärcher, Mitsubishi, and others.

Players may farm in four different continents and grow region-specific crops (specific locations are Italy, Colombia, Japan, and Montana, with one more available as a pre-order bonus). There are three different game modes: free farming, learning the basics of agriculture, and testing one’s skills in objective-based challenges.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is a fighting game with action RPG elements from Square Enix and Team Ninja. Players can select their three-person team from over 24 playable Final Fantasy characters spanning 30 years of the franchise’s history, and do battle in more than 10 iconic arenas. The combatants are divided into four categories – vanguard, assassin, marksman, or specialist – each with their own fighting styles and abilities. Every match allows the player to call forth legendary summons like Ifrit, Shiva, and Odin to turn the tide of battle.

Blackguards 2 Box Art

Blackguards 2 is a turn-based tactical RPG developed by German company Daedalic Entertainment and published by Kalypso Media. It takes place years after the events in the first game, and follows Cassia, a young noblewoman, on her quest to rally the Vanquishers of the Nine Hordes and claim the Shark Throne for herself. The player can choose spells and talents freely, developing a unique combat style, and recruit mercenaries, controlling up to 20 characters on the hex battlefield.

As Blackguards 2 is already out on Steam since 2015, this article is concerned specifically with the upcoming console versions of the game.

Raiden V: Director’s Cut is a vertical-scrolling shooter, or a shmup, where players take control of one of the three powerful aircraft (Azuma, Spirit of Dragon, or Moulin Rouge) and do combat against countless waves of enemies, upgrading their weapons along the way. Unlike the previous installments in the series, it names many real-world locations.

As Raiden V has already been released on Xbox One in the West back in 2016, this article is concerning specifically the upcoming release on PlayStation 4 and Steam.
