Monster Hunter World is an open-world action RPG developed and published by Capcom. As the fifth main entry in their highly successful Monster Hunter series, it introduces seamless transitions between zones, larger maps, and an online co-op for up to four players without region lock.

The game has the player take on the role of a hunter on a research expedition to a newly discovered continent. It offers fourteen varied weapon types, such as dual blades, greatsword, lance, and bow, each with unique attacks and status effects. Furthermore, it is possible to switch between weapons mid-quest.

Tiny Barbarian DX Box Art

Tiny Barbarian DX is a side-scrolling action platformer with retro-style graphics. It is developed by StarQuail Games and published for Nintendo Switch by Nicalis. As the game is already out on Steam since 2013, this article is regarding specifically the yet-unreleased Switch version.

In Tiny Barbarian DX, the player takes control of a sword-wielding barbarian and does battle against endless hordes of monsters and challenging bosses. The game is made up of episodes, each of which offers a self-contained adventure with new enemies and soundtrack. The game also offers a co-op mode for two players.

Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV Box Art

Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV is a virtual reality fishing game developed by Square Enix exclusively for the PSVR. Like the title suggests, it is based in the Final Fantasy XV universe, and has the player interact with Noctis, Ignis, Gladiolus, Prompto, and other characters as they travel around picturesque waterfronts and catch fish.

The game offers a story mode which eventually leads to an action-packed showdown with the titular Monster of the Deep, as well as a free fishing mode which allows the player to kick back and relax. There also are fishing challenges and tournaments.

Ittle Dew 2+ Box Art

Ittle Dew 2 is a 3D action-adventure with RPG elements developed by indie studio Ludosity and published by Nicalis. It follows the titular adventurer Ittle and her flying fox companion Tippsie, who are stranded on a mysterious island filled with loot and puzzles, and have to find eight pieces of a raft that will take them home.

As the game is already out on Steam, Xbox One, and PS4, this article is concerned specifically with the upcoming Nintendo Switch release. According to the publisher, the Switch version (dubbed Ittle Dew 2+) includes an entirely new adventure, Dream World, with five puzzle-filled dungeons, a new boss, and 40 collectible cards.

Sonic Forces Box Art

Sonic Forces is the latest installment in Sega’s most popular action platformer franchise. It combines three gamestyles: Classic Sonic, which is played in a side-scrolling 2D view; Modern Sonic with 3D levels similar to those in Sonic Colors or Sonic Generations; and, lastly, Hero Character stages played with a custom character. There also are Tag Team levels, where Sonic and the hero character work together.

When it comes to creating their own character, the player may pick one of the seven archetypes, each with its own special ability, and then further customize their avatar with costumes and accessories. In fact, some exclusives costumes are offered as a pre-order bonus – more on that after the jump.

Secret of Mana Box Art

The upcoming Secret of Mana is a 3D remake of the 1993 SNES action RPG from Square Enix. It follows the adventures of a courageous young man Randi, who alongside a noblewoman Primm and a mischievous sprite Popoi take on a treacherous empire in an attempt to restore balance to the world.

Compared to the original, the remake features revamped visuals and controls, voiced characters, a rearranged soundtrack, and local multiplayer for up to three players.

The Crew 2 Box Art

The Crew 2 is an open-world racing game developed by Ivory Tower and published by Ubisoft. Compared to its predecessor, it offers more freedom by allowing the players to drive not only cars, but also planes, boats, and bikes, and even swap between them on-the-fly. The missions and challenges are divided into four categories – Street Racing, Off-Road, Pro Racing, and Freestyle – with different vehicle types used.

Much like in the previous title, there is a focus on co-op multiplayer and social aspects of the game, with the players able to join various racing events and challenge each other to beat their records. All progress and achievements are tracked and ranked online.
