Dead Space 2

Dead Space 2 Box Art

Dead Space 2 is an upcoming sequel to the third-person shooter / horror game series developed by Visceral Games and published by EA. It will be released for all three major gaming platforms on January 25th, 2011 simultaneously. The game has a single-player and several multiplayer modes.

Players will once again take control of the spaceship engineer Isaac Clarke. Three years have passed since the events of the first game, and Clarke is being held in a mental ward on a massive space city called “the Sprawl” located on the remains of Saturn’s satellite Titan. The game starts with a Necromorph outbreak on the station and Clarke being released from the asylum to kick some ass.

Dead Space 2 has new gameplay elements like zero-g environments, as well as even more creative and brutal ways of Necromorph destruction. Impale and pin them to the wall with the new Javelin Gun, and follow up with electrocution or blow the abominations into space. Make sure to hit the emergency shutter button to close the breach before you get ejected as well.

Test Drive Unlimited 2

Test Drive Unlimited 2 Box Art

TDU2 is the long-awaited sequel to the open-world racing game Test Drive Unlimited. It is developed by Eden Games and published by Atari. The game will be released for all three major gaming platforms (Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC) in February 2011.

The developers of Test Drive Unlimited 2 call it a “M.O.O.R.” game, which stands for Massively Open Online Racing. The multiplayer will be pretty similar to the first game and require no subscription fee to play. Players will be able to build and grow racing clubs, join free roam sessions and walk around in shops, clubs and the new racing lobby.  It will be possible to customize the club logo, the look of your avatar, your home, and, of course, the cars themselves.

The game will feature highly realistic racing tracks in the Oahu island (Hawaii) and Ibiza (Mediterranean) created with the help of satellite imagery. The single player mode of TDU 2 will have a storyline to follow; in order to advance, the players will have to earn experience points through Competition, Social, Discovery and Collection means. The maximum level is 60, and additional 10 levels are available with the TDU2: Casino Online DLC.

LittleBigPlanet 2

LittleBigPlanet 2 Box Art

This sequel to the critically acclaimed puzzle platformer LittleBigPlanet provides the fans with new means to Play, Create and Share. LBP2 features numerous improvements over the first game: better graphics, a brand new story, and most importantly – greater freedom in creating new levels.

In LittleBigPlanet 2 you will be able to create not only classic platformer levels, but puzzle, role-playing and top-down racing ones as well. The game (or should I say, platform for making games) will also include a selection of licenced music, as well as a sequencer for making your own soundtracks.

Since LBP is such a community-driven game, Media Molecule are making sure the existing LittleBigPlanet levels are be backwards compatible with the second game (although that might not work if you used any glitches). All content you downloaded you have will also be available.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Box Art

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a cyberpunk first person shooter / role-playing game, and the third title in the Deus Ex series. It is a prequel to the original game and takes place 25 years earlier, when human augmentation is still in the experimental stages. DX: HR is developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix.

The protagonist of the game is Adam Jensen, a security specialist working for a biotech corporation who gets critically wounded during an attack on his workplace, and forcibly augmented with cybernetic parts to save his life. Improve your abilities with even stronger “augs” and uncover a dark plot to take control over mankind!

Conspiracy theories, transhumanism and “Cyber Renaissance” are the main themes of Human Revolution. Like in the first Deus Ex game, you will have a choice about how to accomplish missions and proceed with the story: by using stealth, talking your way through, hacking various electronic systems (2D minigame), or just good old FPS-style shooting.
