Toukiden 2 Box Art

Toukiden 2 is an upcoming action RPG developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo. Set two years after the events in Kiwami, it follows a Slayer who fought in the defense of the city of Yokohama and was swallowed by a portal, emerging in Mahoroba Village ten years later with no memories of the past.

One major change from its predecessors is that Toukiden 2 now features an open world, with Mahoroba Village serving as the game’s main hub. The entire cast of Slayers, as well as non-combatant NPCs, make a return in the upcoming title. There also are new characters, Oni, and Mitama.

RiME Box Art

RiME is an upcoming puzzle adventure game developed by Tequila Works, and published by Grey Box and Six Foot. It follows a young boy who gets shipwrecked on a mysterious island following a torrential storm. Guided by a helpful fox companion, players must use their wits to solve challenges with sound, light and shadow projection, perspective, platforming, and even time manipulation.

Several gaming sites have listed RiME among their most anticipated titles of 2017, citing its gorgeous visuals and subtle narrative.

Prey Box Art

Prey is an upcoming first-person shooter developed by Arkane Studios (known for their work on the Dishonored franchise) and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game takes place in a space station Talos I, where research on an alien species called Typhon is performed until the non-terrestrials escape containment, slaughtering most of the crew members.

The player steps into the shoes of Morgan Yu, a high-ranking executive at the TranStar Corporation, who has to brave the isolated space station overrun with hostile aliens. Fortunately, Yu is armed with more than just weapons; he is also capable of using various alien powers learned from studying the Typhon.

Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood Box Art

Stormblood is the upcoming second expansion to the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn MMORPG made by Square Enix. It raises the level cap from 60 to 70, adding new areas, dungeons, gear, jobs, as well as new gameplay mechanics like swimming and diving. Stormblood takes place in the region of Ala Mhigo and features a new antagonist, Zenos yae Galvus.

With the 4.0 update, Final Fantasy XIV increases the system requirements for the PC version, and cuts PlayStation 3 support completely. A campaign is in place to allow gamers to carry over their account data to the PS4 version free of charge until the end of the year.

Tekken 7 Box Art

Tekken 7 is the latest installment in Bandai Namco’s enormously popular fighting game series, bringing new gameplay mechanics, photorealistic graphics powered by Unreal Engine 4, and a conclusion to the Mishima clan’s bloody feud. The game is to have a pool of 30 fighters at launch (including Street Fighter’s Akuma), with new ones added over time.

Among the new features in the game is the Rage System, which grants the player two devastating moves – Rage Art and Rage Drive – once their health starts flashing red. Boosting the damage immensely, the mechanic allows for incredible comebacks. Another addition is a move called Power Crush, which absorbs damage from a mid or a high attack, and continues despite taking damage.

Little Nightmares is a puzzle-platformer made by independent developer Tarsier Studios. The game follows Six, a little girl in an oversized yellow raincoat, who is trapped in a mysterious and gloomy prison called The Maw. Armed with nothing but her wits and a lighter, Six has to evade the Maw’s monstrous residents, and make her way to the outside world.

Published by Bandai Namco, Little Nightmares will be out on current-gen consoles and PC (via Steam and GOG.com).

The latest release from Ready At Dawn Studios is Deformers, a physics-based multiplayer arena brawler with a colorful, cartoonish art style. Up to eight players will shoot, ram, and throw each other off the arena, powering up and increasing the size of their squishy Form as they go on.

The game features several modes such as free-for-all, Form Ball, and team deathmatch. There also is a variety of maps including symmetrical, multi-tiered, and asymmetrical ones.
