No Man's Sky Box Art

No Man’s Sky is a space adventure game developed by indie studio Hello Games and published by Sony (PS4) and iam8bit (PC). It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “open world”, featuring an effectively infinite, procedurally-generated universe with billions of star systems. Players can explore the galaxy on their spaceship, land on planets, discover new forms of flora and fauna, and fight or trade with various NPC factions. The ultimate goal is journeying towards the center of the galaxy, but the increasingly hostile environments will require upgrades to the player’s ship, space suit, and multi-tool.

As all the planets are generated on-the-fly, the game can be played offline. However, No Man’s Sky does have some multiplayer elements, such as crediting the first player to discover a certain planet or a lifeform.

The latest stealth-action game from IO Interactive is titled simply Hitman. It features more sandbox elements, a revamped Contracts mode, and an ability to create your own, custom assassination scenarios and share them with other players. Plot-wise, the new game takes place after the events of Absolution, except for the Prologue, which serves as a prequel and has Agent 47 meeting Diana for the first time.

What’s unusual about Hitman is that it is going to be released digitally in seven distinct episodes over the course of the year. Players can pre-order “The Full Experience” ($60) which includes all future episodes like a Season Pass, or get the “Intro Pack” ($15) which only includes the Prologue and the first episode, but still grants full access to Contracts and Escalation modes. The rest of the episodes can then be acquired by purchasing the “Upgrade Pack” ($50) should the player wish to do so. Lastly, boxed versions will be available in late 2016 and include all the content.

Total War: Warhammer is to include four playable factions at launch (the Empire, the Greenskins, the Dwarfs, and the Vampire Counts), each with its own unique units and campaign mechanics. An additional faction is available through pre-order.
