Pioneers of Olive Town is the next entry in the fantasy farming game series Story of Seasons. The game’s protagonist leaves the big city for a quiet Olive Town and takes over their grandfather’s old farm, which has been reclaimed by nature. Land needs to be cleared, the old facilities repaired, and new ones built. Meanwhile, the nearby Olive Town has hundreds of unique festivities and events to offer.
The standard edition of Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town can be pre-ordered for $49.99 and includes just the game and the pre-order bonus, if applicable. There is also a retail Premium Edition and a digital Expansion Pass Set detailed after the jump.
Harvest Moon: One World is the latest installment in the long-running Harvest Moon franchise that brings new engine and graphics as well as a new way to explore the game’s world. Players will travel to five colorful locations – from deserts to snowy mountains – while taking their Expando-Farm with them. The overarching goal is to collect seeds for produce like cabbages and tomatoes, which were lost when the Harvest Goddess disappeared from the world. There also are five bachelors and five bachelorettes, each with their unique personality and backstory, that the player will be able to pursue.
Bravely Default II is a turn-based RPG from Japanese studio Claytechworks. While it inherits certain gameplay mechanics from the previous Bravely installments, such as the Brave and Default commands, the setting and the character cast are all new.
The game is set on the continent of Excillant, which is split into five kingdoms, and follows a young sailor Seth. After washing up on Excillant’s shores, he encounters a princess who fled her ruined kingdom, as well as two travelers determined to decipher a mysterious and magical book. The player can select from many different jobs and skills, and customize each party member to fit their strategy.
Persona 5 Strikers continues the story of Joker and the Phantom Thieves but centers around a new incident, allowing new players to enjoy the game without having played Persona 5. During their summer vacation, a ruthless Kyoto detective recruits the Phantom Thieves to investigate a series of strange cases occurring across Japan. The gang will travel to 6 different cities, helping those in need and fighting the Shadows to uncover the source of the corruption.
The spin-off is co-developed by Atlus’ P-Studio and Omega Force, and combines the hack-and-slash battles of the Dynasty Warriors series with the tactical usage of Personas. The Western release includes English and Japanese voice acting and numerous subtitle options.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is an enhanced Switch port of the original Super Mario 3D World for Wii U from 2013. New features include faster movement speed for Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad, online multiplayer with up to three other players, and a Snapshot mode. But the largest addition by far is Bowser’s Fury: a standalone, free-roaming adventure that involves Mario teaming up with Bowser Jr.
The game also supports amiibo. The upcoming Cat Mario and Cat Peach amiibo grant power-ups in the main portion of the game, while Bowser and Bowser Jr. amiibo can be used in the new Bowser’s Fury adventure.
Little Nightmares II follows the macabre adventure of Mono, a young boy trapped in a world distorted by the humming transmission of a distant Signal Tower. Guided by Six, the yellow-raincoated girl from the previous installment, he sets out to discover the secrets of the Signal Tower and save Six from her terrible fate. They will solve intricate puzzles, discover the mysteries of the Pale City, and fight to escape its fearsome residents.

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- The Prophecy of the Throne is a visual novel-slash-tactical RPG based on the popular anime and light novel series by Tappei Nagatsuki. While centering on the Royal Selection arc from the first season of the anime, the game features an original storyline that deviates from canon and has a mysterious sixth candidate join in the struggle for the throne. The story is overseen by Re:ZERO‘s author, and the new characters are designed by the original artist Shinichirou Otsuka.
Atelier Ryza 2 picks up three years after the events in Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout and follows Ryza on a brand-new adventure. After leaving the Kurken Island for the royal capital of Ashra-am Baird, she reunites with her friends and explores ancient ruins while seeking to uncover the truth behind the mystery of the lost legends.
One of the new skills that Ryza can learn in the upcoming game is swimming. This opens up underwater areas for exploration, including a submerged dungeon, which has plenty of aquatic materials to collect. Charming new characters are also introduced, including the mysterious fairy Fi.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is a puzzle game from Sega that mashes up Japan’s popular Puyo Puyo franchise with Tetris. Like in the first game, players can enjoy a solo Adventure mode (now with a new Overworld map to navigate between puzzle stages), local Versus competitions, and ranked Online matches.
New in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is the Skill Battle mode that features a character progression system and Item Cards that provide special abilities during battles.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising – previously known as Gods and Monsters – is an upcoming third-person action-adventure game from Ubisoft. Players take on the role of the titular Fenyx, a winged demigod, and embark on a quest to save the Greek gods from a dark curse. Fenyx can be played as male or female with a customizable appearance.
Fenyx Rising features a stylized open world across seven unique regions that can be freely explored and offers side-quests and puzzles outside of the main storyline. The player can upgrade Fenyx’s gear and skills, and acquire powerful godlike gifts such as the sword of Achilles or the bow of Odysseus.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a spin-off of the main The Legend of Zelda series developed by Omega Force and Team Ninja, the makers of Dynasty Warriors franchise. It plays similarly to the Musou games the developer is famed for, pitting heroes like Link and Zelda against hordes of barbaric Bokoblins, towering Lynels, and other foes.
Like the title suggests, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity takes place during the second Great Calamity, when Ganon plunged Hyrule into darkness a century before the events in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Fuser is an upcoming rhythm game from Harmonix, the makers of titles like Rock Band and Dance Central. Players step into the shoes of a DJ and make mixes for a virtual audience, scoring points when they add new tracks in time to the beat and play songs requested by the audience.
The game features multiple modes: Campaign Play, Freestyle Play, Multiplayer, and Social Sharing. Over 100 songs across various genres are included in Fuser, and three more are added as a pre-order bonus.
Developed by the two-man team of Edelweiss, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is a cross-genre title that combines side-scrolling combat with a crafting and farming simulation. It follows a young harvest goddess Sakuna, who is banished from the celestial capital, where she lived in lazy luxury, to an untamed island teeming with demonic beasts. There, she finds her calling farming rice and bettering the lives of the mortals in the local mountain village. The game is inspired by Japanese mythology, albeit with some original twists, and features a charming cel-shaded art style.
XIII is a remake of the 2003 first-person shooter based on an eponymous graphic novel. You play as an elite soldier Thirteen, who wakes up in a deserted beach without any memories but still in possession of his skills. As you set off to uncover your past, you soon learn that you played a role in the murder of the President of the United States of America.
True to its comic book heritage, XIII features a cel-shaded art style, onomatopoeia sound effects, and speech bubbles. The game’s solo campaign includes a total of 34 levels, and there is a PvP multiplayer mode as well.
The Expansion Pass for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield grants access to two upcoming expansions: The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra. Both expansions come with a new area to explore, new Pokémon to catch, clothing, handy features, and more.
In The Isle of Armor players explore a beautiful island and become apprentices at a Fighting Dojo, where they are gifted a legendary Pokémon Kubfu. The expansion also adds Gigantamax forms for starters Rillaboom, Cinderace, and Inteleon.
Like the name suggests, Monster Truck Championship is a monster truck simulator developed by Teyon. The game includes 25 circuits across different cities in the US and game modes such as freestyle, race, destruction, time attack, and a competitive online mode for up to eight players.
The 18 vehicles in the game can be fine-tuned to the player’s liking, and over 50 customization elements can be used to improve performance and style.
FIFA 21 is the latest entry in EA Sports’ popular soccer game series. It includes 30 official leagues, 700 teams, and 17,000 players, and offers more ways to play in the streets and the stadium with the new Volta Squads and enhanced Career Mode. Players can also join forces with a friend in the new FUT Co-Op and play Squad Battles and Division Rivals cooperatively.
FIFA 21 will be available on the next-gen consoles with a plethora of improvements thanks to the more powerful hardware: haptic feedback, near-instant load times, dynamic lighting, lifelike animations, and spatial audio.
Port Royale 4 is a trading and city-building sim set in 17th-century Caribbean. The player takes control of a small colony and grows it into a bustling city by developing production chains, creating trade routes across the sea, battling fleets of rival nations, and fending off pirates.
In a departure from the previous installments, PR4 features turn-based naval battles. The player may choose to represent England, France, Spain, or the Netherlands, each providing different benefits and gameplay styles. The game includes over 60 cities, 50 different buildings, and 18 historically authentic ship types.
To commemorate the he 35th anniversary of their Super Mario franchise, Nintendo is launching Super Mario 3D All-Stars: a bundle of three 3D platformers remastered for Nintendo Switch. These include Super Mario 64 (1996), Super Mario Sunshine (2002), and Super Mario Galaxy (2007). In addition to the games themselves, Super Mario 3D All-Stars also includes the games’ original soundtracks (for a total of 175 tracks) that can be listened even while the screen is off.
Notably, both the physical and digital availability of Super Mario 3D All-Stars will be time-limited, with the sales ending in March 2021.
While there won’t be a mainline WWE 2K installment in 2020, the company is instead releasing WWE 2K Battlegrounds: an arcade-focused wrestling experience with over-the-top action set to the background of outlandish environments.
The game’s modes include Exhibition matches (with online and local multiplayer), a solo Campaign whose story is told through original comic strips, the last-man-standing mode King of the Battleground, and Online tournaments. Over 70 wrestlers are included at launch and more will be available as DLC, one of them as a pre-order bonus.
